PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN
St. Paul Christian School offers challenging, hands-on learning opportunities for our students. Our faculty focuses on providing instruction that meets the needs of each individual student. Here, it is about preparing our students to be strong in all subjects and ultimately to thrive in a college environment, while also nurturing the self-confidence and critical independent thinking.
We provide an atmosphere conducive to learning in a stimulating yet encouraging environment. Our students have all the benefits of accelerated learning without the pressures that often accompany it. At St. Paul, students may reach their fullest potentials, while developing a confidence and love of learning that will endure throughout their lives.
Because our school combines traditional standards of academic rigor and discipline with modern approaches to learning, our students gain the skills that success requires and the flexibility that change demands. The school promotes enjoyment of learning and problem-solving so that students respond enthusiastically to challenge. St. Paul students excel both inside and outside the classroom.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (1ST-5TH)
Welcome to elementary school where meaningful relationships inspire transformative learning. Our first through fifth graders grow from curious young learners into critically thinking, increasingly independent, cooperatively collaborative, and admirably honest young students through curriculum and programs designed specifically for elementary-aged children. Supportive and experienced teachers work together to build a solid foundation upon which increasingly sophisticated academic and personal experiences are built.
At the heart of the school are the relationships that develop between teachers and students both in and outside of the classroom. In addition to the core academic subject areas, students experience drama, art, physical education, technology, media and music classes. Special events, field trips, outdoor education activities, assemblies, and other activities add to the overall academic and social experience at St. Paul and highlight the many gifts and talents of our young elementary students.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
The St Paul middle school program is focused on helping kids move from childhood to adolescence. While academics become more challenging and independent critical thinking is encouraged, we also ensure that our students can transition during this critical developmental stage with proper nurturing and attention to their individual needs.
Our middle school program reflects our belief that students thrive in a nurturing, yet challenging environment. It is designed to prepare students to accept increasing responsibility for class preparation, employment of effective study skills, organizational skills, and personal involvement in their own education. We seek to support students in making the transition from childhood to adolescence by helping them recognize the connections between actions and consequences, effort and achievement, perseverance and accomplishment of goals.
All courses are planned with the goals of helping students develop and refine the basic skills of reading, writing, listening, and mastering math concepts. At every grade level we seek to promote increasingly sophisticated cognitive and affective development. As students progress through the three years of middle school, they participate in a series of classroom activities designed to promote maturation of reasoning skills and to encourage them to advance from concrete to abstract thinking as they are developmentally ready to do so.
HIGH SCHOOL
Academic challenge, individual excellence, and personal integrity are benchmarks of the St Paul high school experience. Through Advanced Placement, honors, and standard courses, students experience a strong curriculum designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful not only in the most challenging of college environments but also in life.
Core to our high school program is an expected commitment from our students to personal integrity and a willingness to share responsibility for accomplishments, for actions, and for the well being of others. A variety of extracurricular activities, athletic programs, and clubs combine to provide opportunities for exploration and participation beyond the classroom. Grade level advisory groups create an ongoing social and academic support system for all four years of high school.
We believe through personal challenges and experiences our students will realize the “lifelong love of learning” is vital to an informed society. The curriculum and program offerings commit our faculty members and students to live God-centered lives that embody the values of hard work, integrity and community.
